T O P I C R E V I E WD for DefiantPlease, I would greatly appreciate your help-About six months ago, I submitted a book review for the suicidology/psychological autopsy book: "Autopsy of a Suicidal Mind", in which the decedent's family and loved ones were interviewed, among whom were his siblings. I had mentioned this to Node in her thread "Suicide" in Astrology forum (but I deleted my posts). Anyway, yesterday I submitted another book review at Amazon.com, and to my surprise, the web page said that I had a sort of "private message" for me to open. I checked it, and it turned out to be a brief note from a person (he or she???) who claimed that he was the deceased major depressive patient's brother, that he found my review "thouroughly moving" (ur, I thought that review was severely imcomplete) and that he would very much like to hear from me, that he would like me to get back to him "as soon as I saw this message". According to the date displayed, the message was posted early this July. But the problem is, this online pal gives me a male name, which consists of a first name, a last name, BUT also a middle name- even without the name thing, my first reaction was still "could this be somebody else kidding me/pretending to be that poor fellow's brother?"I do remember that the man who committed suicide came from an American Jewish family; sorry for sounding ignorant- but I thought Jews didn't have middle names, do they?So this guy (or gal?)gave me a "full name" which consists of a middle name. Is this obviously a prank? Thanks for your input in advance. D for DefiantSorry,Did I offend anyone without knowing it *oops*?aqua infernoDoesn’t seem offensive to me. Not sure about the middle name thing tho YangHmm, interesting...don't know about the middle name too pixelpixieWell, my boss is jewish and I learned ( how timely for you) just yesterday, that he has a middle name.I love hebrew names.AcousticGodI think they DO have middle names. If they don't in other countries I'm sure that part of the assimilation into U.S. culture would cause some (if not many) to add a middle name. Jon Stewart, a popular jewish comedian here, was born Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz. Adam Sandler, a comedian well known for his Jewish Hanukkah song, has the middle name Richard according to wikipedia. Billy Crystal is William Jacob Crystal. Etc.GooberzlostlovefoundI can tell you...they do artlovesdawn..D for DefiantThank you, guys The middle name of the person who had provided to me is Samuel. Many thanks for your help- I was so ignorant that, I only knew the American Jewish actress Natalie Portman's real name is Natalie Hershlag, that she doesn't have a middle name, and I had made such a reckless assumption as to maybe Jews didn't have middle names because of their religious belief(s)...but as I was writing the last few sentences, I had just recalled that, another American Jewish actress, Winona Ryder, whose real name does contain a middle name and the name is Winona Laura Horowitz...Gosh, how could have I missed that! But thank you. I really appreciate it
